This
is nauseating. It's "Ground Hog's Day" from Hell. Each
cycle around it gets meaner and uglier and more destructive. From
Gulf I, to Gulf II, to Libya, to Syria, to Iran. This is the same
bastard who was Joint Chief's Chairman on 9-11. I said a lot to say
about him in "Crossing the Rubicon". Wag the dog. Wag the
dog. Wag the dog....

Night Thoughts
The
story we have been fed by the media is that the Syrian government has
chemical weapons and that reliable (sic) intelligence (where have we
heard that before) indicates that the regime is shifting the weapons,
indicating, presumably that they are prepared to use them.
Obama
has warned the Syrian government giving them a red line that they
musn't cross..
Watching
the television news here in New Zealand there was an item from
British
ITV which adhered to the script for the most part but also
included a segment from an
interview with retired Gen. Myers in which he said he was very
concerned about chemical and other weapons falling into the hands of
al-Qaeda who would have no qualms about using them.
When
I checked this it was very hard to find any confirmation other than
the video I saw on the TV along with an accompanying ITV article.
No
one else seems to have covered this particular angle.
I
felt very alarmed hearing this.
Kissinger,
Brzezinski, Cheney, Myers – all of these people are truly evil –
there's not a shadow of doubt about that.
However,
at least some of these people are also capable of realism and someone
like Gen Myers might be right in what he is saying.
Think
of it in this way. In their desire to reset the whole of the Middle
East – to overthrow Bashar Assad and the regime in Iran (and along
with it Israel's nemesis, Hezbollah) the Americans have, once again
unleashed the forces of militant jihadism.
The
regime in Syria are more akin to the old Soviet regime: they do not
have any aggressive designs on anyone and unless their back is truly
to the wall, are extremely unlikely to use chemical weapons.
However,
if the “rebels”, the Jihadists are making advances it is not in
the least beyond the realms of the possible that they might get their
hands on Syrian chemical and other weapons, and there wouldn't be a
single thing that the Americans or the Israelis could do about it.
Syria
would certainly have weapons that could hit Israel and the Jihadists
would not hesitate for a moment before using them.
And
Israel, as we know, has nuclear weapons.
It
would not surprise me in the least if, despite the public utterings
of Obama if that was not what the Americans are now worried about.
In
a scenario like this, all bets would be off.
This
is more by way of a vision than a considered analysis. I really don'
t believe that any of us possess sufficient information, let alone
crystal balls.
I
pray that this nightmarish scenario never come to pass, but I cannot
see the Syrian government successfully crushing the rebellion. The
Arabs and the western powers have seen to that.
Truly
time for prayer.
