Reflections on the Charlie Hebdo attacks

This is an interview with Facebook friend, Peter Iiskola, Finnish lawyer based in St Petersburg, Russia

Look for American footprints
Finnish lawyers speculate on who might be behind the tragedy in Paris
Ищите американский след

Subject: The international situation.

What are the similarities between «Charlie Hedbo» and Ukraine? In other words, as you would have asked in ancient Rome, "Cui Bono?" - "Who benefits?"

These issues are bothering many Europeans. The answers lie on the surface: a general word here - "USA". It seem to be beneficial just for USA, according to the Finnish international lawyer Peter Iiskola and his compatriot Jon Hellevig, also a lawyer by training but now a businessman.

They are interviewed by Ludmila Nikolaeva in the Russian media portal Free Press (Svodobnaya Pressa, see link here http://svpressa.ru/politic/article/110590/)

- The United States in its foreign policy is aiming at world domination and the activity is guided by the Roman principle of "divide and rule", - says Peter Iiskola.

- Divide the Muslim countries and dominate Europe, and then dominate Russia, the only country at the moment, which is able to withstand the transatlantic militarism. So USA is a kind of "Empire of chaos." The American neo-conservatives deliberately demonize their opponents by deceiving their own people and the citizens of the European Union. CIA (and its allies) just obediently follows instructions from the U.S. Foreign Ministry in order to mobilize various extreme groups and the spread "chaos" and hatred against Muslims or Russia, or those who prevent USA on the path to world domination.

The tragedy of Charlie Hedbo will be as much unanswered as the 9/11 attack on Twin Towers, the Iraqi non-existing “weapons of mass destruction”, the shots in the spine of demonstrators in Maidan in Kiev, the Odessa massacre by neo-Nazis, the downing of the Malaysian plane in Ukraine, the continuing genocide of people in Eastern Ukraine by the Junta in Kiev… For all this we can find an answer from the American neo-conservatives, whose purpose is to transform the US into an even stronger global power. They stop at nothing, using tricks of the masters of the CIA.

"SP": - You mean tricks under "controlled chaos" - a tool to tame objections that once used by the German Nazis?

Peter Iiskola: Yeah, like that. So, I was not surprised that Obama did not come to Paris for a nationwide, even pan-European peace march. No surprise at all, because only three countries in the UN are still opposing the condemnation of neo-Nazism – namely United States, Canada and Ukraine.

"SP": - Peter maybe you have visited or lived in France?

Peter Iiskola: Of course, I have been many times to Paris. Moreover, I lived in Strasbourg in 1997-2001 when I worked at the Council of Europe.

"SP": - And are you reading magazine «Charlie Hedbo»?

Peter Iiskola: Very little. I do not like this type of magazines. The journal can of course be funny, but also tasteless. It can also have a very strong oppressive political hate message against religions or ethnic groups. The journal can even have an illegal message. Why? Because there is always a limit for the freedom of expression – and that is other people’s rights through hatred. Therefore, if you are publishing hatred, then it can easily be a “hate crime” against the human rights and the European Convention on Human Rights. After the tragic incident I thought that what if this journal would start to campaign against Judaism, Catholicism, Orthodoxy or some particular ethnic or national groups, like Gypsies, Germans, Russians, Jews, or even Americans…

"SP": - And you, Jon, what do you say about this publication?

Jon Hellevig: I visited Paris many times. I have been there as a tourist and for business and science. The journal «Charlie Hebdo» I do not read, but I saw some cartoons. I cannot say that I liked them. The US media openly lie when they say that «Charlie» is a symbol of freedom of speech. In my opinion, this is blasphemy and replication of hatred.

"SP": - Now, many are saying that the attack on the journalists of «Charlie» was a well-prepared action of the CIA. Do you agree?

Jon Hellevig: I do not know exactly, but I think it's very possible. The United States and the CIA has repeatedly demonstrated in the history how they can do it, spreading violence and terror. Each inhabitant of Latin America remembers how CIA organized military coups and catastrophes. We know about the false accusations against Iraq, which served as a pretext for the invasion of this Middle Eastern country. One last example is the horrors that have been happening for almost a year in Ukraine. And all this is done under the guise of the Western propaganda, whose media are under the control of the CIA. The shooting at «Charlie Hedbo» reminded France and its president of who is the true master in their house.

"SP": - Millions of Muslims want to live in peace and harmony with the world. An example of this was a rally in Grozny on Monday. Looking at the participants, I thought that why do not Muslims themselves impose order, so to speak, in their ranks? The radical Islamism is today a problem for all.

Peter Iiskola: In every religion there are different extreme elements both historically and now. I do not think that Islam have more or less extreme elements than any other religion. I can fully understand the rally in Grozny. There are no real reasons for the West to demonize the Moslems or Russians in the world. This is done by hiding it under the “freedom of expression”. This Western style is true hypocrisy and a big “hate crime” against the human rights. Just remember the Western "holy wars" against Iraq, Libya, Syria and Afghanistan. And Victoria Nuland and her colleagues from CIA in Ukraine.

"SP": - How to stop US militarism?

Peter Iiskola: It is very difficult, because the US war industry is their biggest business and gives huge profits to private business owners, which corrupt and buy the politicians and the media.

-However, every Empire has its militarism. But the current American militarism has just grown out of proportions, because USA has military presence or bases in more than 150 countries of the about 200 countries in the world. The economy of USA cannot anymore work without constant wars. The system is based on oppressing and using other countries and their resources. Since 1945, the United States took part in 40 wars and revolutions. According to some estimates, some 30 Million people were killed in these wars. Now they are using NATO and the European Union just as their new tools.

"SP": - Many experts say that the United States seeks to subjugate Europe, and Russia - to interfere and be against Russia. Ukraine has been used here only as a pretext...

Jon Hellevig: It is wrong to say that the Americans desire to subjugate Europe, because they have already done so. US completely dominate now in the Old World. The USA agents are in all the important positions in the governments of our countries, the European Commission, etc.

"SP ": - I cannot understand why some Europeans are accepting this situation?

Peter Iiskola: Americans are corrupting the rest of Europe through a tough propaganda emanating from their corporate pro-government media. They are confident that they can buy everything and everyone - from journalists to politicians and presidents. When Europe finally will understand that they are simple puppets of the US in every aspect - from economics to politics – the can be a counter-response. This kind of understanding, it seems to me, has already begun in Europe.

"SP ": - A significant number of political scientists, including Western, agree on the fact that the tragedy in Paris was an act of intimidation of the French president Hollande, who shortly before dared to publicly urge colleagues to think about the lifting of sanctions against Russia, and even a little earlier - support the Palestinians ...

Peter Iiskola: I agree with this view. The tragedy in Paris is a professional work "Empire of Chaos." It was necessary to remind France, and the whole Europe, what will happen with disobedience to "Uncle Sam."

Jon Hellevig: You know, in 2001, many said that the September 11 attacks on the Twin Towers in New York were a provocation of special services to secure additional funding for the arms race. Before, I did not think so, but today I cannot exclude this.

"SP": - Do you have a suggestion how to solve the problem of Ukraine, anti-Russian sanctions and the USA appetite in its quest for world domination?

Jon Hellevig: I think the best would be now send Russian troops in the South-East of Ukraine as humanitarian aid to bring peace, and to stop the suffering. As for the "taming" of the US, there is an important counterweight to American hegemony. It is may be a union between Russia and China – an economic, political and military union. In a broader perspective it is to connect BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) and as much as possible of the free world from Asia, Africa and Latin America, which are not under the control of the Americans. And then, I think, Western Europe, together with the United States, can be isolated.

I live regularly in Russia since 1992. I really like the way Russia has evolved over the past years. I am sure that the Russian people, of course, do not want war. To me, they seem peaceful, freedom-loving, and have a lot of patience. And the Russians will, no doubt, use until the end all possible compromises, non-military means and methods of settlement of the situation in Ukraine. I am sure that Russia will win.
