Nemtsov Maidan Failed

Evgeny
Fedorov describes what he believes to be the machinery and motivation
behind the shooting of Boris Nemtsov, literally at the walls of the
Kremlin: a high-profile sacrificial lamb, the starting gun and cover
story for a behind-the-scenes coup d´état by the now familiar and
widely documented standard template.
Among the evidence of systematic, high-level planning he cites the mass media's repeated calls for people to come out onto the streets, the arrival of Ukrainian deputy Oleksiy Honcharenko in Moscow, and the apparent pre-printing of Nemtsov “heroes never die” T-shirts - before the shooting.
According to Fedorov's model, the organizers planned to bring out thousands of militants into Red Square and create a massacre – to be conveniently broadcast and suitably spun by the world's media. However, the hundreds of thousands of ordinary citizens, whom the media were calling out onto the streets in order to give a cover-story and legitimacy to the coup, failed to materialize and the next stage of the operation had to be called off.
The Anti-Maidan movement, led by Nikolai Starikov, among others, is credited with opening people's eyes to the risk of a Maidan scenario in Russia, leading to similar catastrophic consequence as unfolded in Ukraine in 2014.
