YAYIN: Türkiye'nin iktidar partisinden 294,548 email, Erdoğan'ın AKP'sinin #AKPemailleri http://wikileaks.org/akp-emails/

20 July, 2016
The emails come from akparti.org.tr which is the primary domain of AKP, President Tayyip Erdogan's ruling party.
Adding more fuel to Erdogan’s fire, or simply an unwelcome distraction for the Sultan of Turkey, as he continues to purge any remnants of opposition to his absolute and limitless rule?

Time will tell, as we sort out the almost 295.000 email bodies that were released late last night by WikiLeaks concerning Turkey’s AKP political party.

According to Wikileaks this is the first part of what is a much larger AKP email cache that covers 762 inboxes beginning with ‘A’ and ending with ‘I’.
The emails come from akparti.org.tr which is the primary domain of AKP, President Tayyip Erdogan’s ruling party.

The email cache was obtained a week before Friday’s coup, and the publication release date was pushed forward in response to Erdogan’s massive post-coup purges. The oldest emails date back to 2010, while the newest email is dated July 6, 2016.

Wikileaks is reporting that the majority of emails deal with international matters, as opposed to internal issues.

Espousing European values and ideals, Turkey has taken swift and immediate action to block access to the WikiLeaks website. The block was initiated was by Turkey’s internet watchdog, while Turkey’s Telecommunications Communications Board called the move an “administrative measure,” a term commonly used by the organization when blocking access to websites…which Turkey does a lot of, just ask Facebook and Twitter.

Always ready to lend a helping hand to people living in free-press loving Turkey (curious to read the content of the emails), Wikileaks tweeted to followers in Turkey that they can use a proxy or “any of our IPs https://141.105.65.113/akp-emails/ (confirm security exception) #Turkey.”

Today, 11pm Anakara Time, WikiLeaks releases part one of the AKP Emails. AKP, or the Justice & Development Party, is the ruling party of Turkey and is the political force behind the country’s president, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Part one of the series covers 762 mail boxes beginning with ‘A’ through to ‘I’ containing 294,548 email bodies together with many thousands of attached files. The emails come from “akparti.org.tr”, the AKP’s primary domain. The most recent was sent on July 6, 2016. The oldest dates back to 2010. It should be noted that emails associated with the domain are mostly used for dealing with the world, as opposed to the most sensitive internal matters.
The material was obtained a week before the attempted coup. However, WikiLeaks has moved forward its publication schedule in response to the government’s post-coup purges. We have verified the material and the source, who is not connected, in any way, to the elements behind the attempted coup, or to a rival political party or state.
